About the Site:
ASM in the broadest sense is a blog about music technology with a focus on musical instrument design and synthesizers. The nature of the articles on ASM range from practical gear reviews to more philosophical topics such as trends and developments in music technology. These articles are not brief current event clippings or content borrowed from other sites. Instead, they are often in-depth, one-of-a-kind, thoughtful conclusions on topics that are important to the author. Also, it’s helpful not to view ASM as a traditional blog with a specific sequence of articles but instead as a non-linear database of information helpful towards progressing music technology as a whole.
About the Author:
The author of this site has been interested in music technology ever since hearing electronic music for the first time as a kid. This fascination led to a degree in computer music and interactive software design that in turn led to a job working for a large US pro-audio/musical instrument manufacturer. Experiences like designing presets for synthesizers and visiting a synthesizer factory in Taiwan has provided a unique and valuable perspective. The author hopes to share this insight with readers through the articles on this blog.
